Happy Birthday Dulce....

On 3/22 baby Dulce turned one year old.  If not for the compassion of others, who knows if she would have seen her first birthday or been healthy enough to enjoy it.  This picture is worth a thousand words to see her with this cake and know my own baby will be celebrating her first birthday in just a few weeks.

My prayer is one day I can meet her and see her grow in to a brighter future than she had before she was brought to our attention.  If that is not in God's plan, then these pictures will be forever reminders of what God can do!

This makes me smile, laugh and cry.  I am so happy for this child!

Wreck Today

My two oldest girls have spent the past two nights with my best friend and her daughter while they are out for Spring Break. Today, they were going to the movies. They were stopped or slowed down for road work on the interstate when they were hit from behind. All three girls were in the rear seat of the van when it was hit. They dont think the other driver even tried to slow down. His vehicle flipped. They took all three children to the local Children's Hospital. Lu Lu seemed pretty ok except she REALLY had to go to the restroom. They did x-rays on Lib and their friend Smallfry. Later, we were all released with no injuries. Its a miracle they are all ok! Thank you for your continued prayers for this sweet baby and for my missionary friends, the hospital staff and surgeon, Dr Kevin Hopkins.

There is a huge lake in Del Rio, where our missionary friends maintain a stateside home, which plays host each year to several Bassmaster tournaments.  I have already told C. that I would like to plan a trip there, possibly next year so I can see everyone there!

Today is my birthday, my dad's birthday and my parent's anniversary.  Also, my BFF had her daughter on this same date 8 yrs ago.  Happy B'day Allie Cat!  You're a cool kid! ;-)  So happy birthday to all of us!

Baby Dulce update!!!

Baby Dulce is out of surgery and half of her smile is repaired.  She will have two additional surgeries to complete the process.  I am just in awe at how God orchestrated all of this. 

It overwhelms my heart to know that sweet baby Dulce, same age as BB, will soon be able to smile at her Mama the same way BB smiles at me.  I can't thank Stan Brock and Dr Hopkins enough for being used of God in this way.  

Although the surgery is being donated, there are many expenses associated with the travel and keeping Dulce healthy.  If you would like to donate towards the travel expenses, please email me or leave a comment. Just got an email that Baby Dulce crossed the Texas border heading to Corpus Christi. Her surgery will be tomorrow with Dr Kevin Hopkins.
